He was loved and cherished by many people including: his son David Robert; his daughter-in-law Elizabeth Sutherland (Lynch); his sons, Lee (Lynn), Douglas (Paulette) and Eric (Bonnie); his grandchildren, Dawn (Carey), Dale (Greg), Allan (Patricia), Sandy (Leigh Ann), Aimée (Shane) and Lynda (Calum); his great grandchildren, Ellis, Peyton, Kaeden and Jaelyn; his siblings' children, Michael and Adele Stokoe; his father The Falls; and his siblings, Jessie (George Fraser), Jean (George Epworth), Catharine (Ross Bickers), Colin (Bessie Dunbrack), George "Bud" (Katharine Macleod), Ethel (Dickson Reid) and Hazel (John Hawkins).
