He was predeceased by: his parents, Harlan Nelson and Verna Nelson (Currie); and his siblings, Shirley, Marlene, Margaret, Mary, Bruce and Eric.
He is survived by: his wife Elaine (Purdy); his children, Jason (Janell), Alanna (Chris) and Rayanne (Chris); his grandchildren, Tate Nelson, Kase Nelson, Norah McPhee, Owen McPhee, Curtis Frizzell, Rachel Frizzell and Hannah Frizzell; and his siblings, Vernon (Beth), Beverly Hutchinson (John) and Phillip.
Donations in Maurice's memory may be made to the Dartt - Nelson Cemetery, Pleasant Valley, where he was the volunteer caretaker for over 55 years.
