He was predeceased by: his siblings, Dolph, Frank and Hedwig; and his son Marcus. He is survived by: his wife Jane; his sisters, Joanne and Frieda; his children, Stephen, Brenda (DeKam), Elizabeth, Gerald (Wilson), David, Miyuki (Yamada), Rachel, Peter (Van Harmelen), Thomas and Chikako (Muramoto); his grandchildren, Charles (Jodi), Emily (Nate), Ian (Jolene), Mannfred, Asuka, Erin, Tomoya, Marissa, Annalies and Andrew; and his great grandchildren, Elijah, Ruth, Nathan and Ethan.
