He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth; and his sister Verna Purcell. He is survived by: his sons, Stephen (Kathy), Fredericton, Michael of Toronto, Ontario, Roderick (Laura) and Richard Halifax (Marilee); his grandchildren, Colin (Amy), Alice of Calgary, Alberta, Neil, Thunder Bay and Kellen of Truro; his great grandchildren, Luke and Toby; his daughter Lucrezia Hernandez of Truro; and his sisters, Helen Fraser of New Glasgow and Peggy Wood of Rocky Mountain.
