He was predeceased by : his parents, Ira "Douglas" Archibald and Olga Archibald (Cavicchi); his stepfather Albert Ettinger; his brother Andy; his niece Candace Archibald; his nephew Chad Archibald; and his grandson Blair Gotell.

He is survived by : his wife Pauline "Polly"; his stepdaughters, Leigh McQuillan (Bobby), Nettie Llewellyn, Naomi Gotell (John) and Faye Stewart; his grandchildren, Jill, Lyndsay, Kyle, Seth, Matthew, Molly, Hailey and Ivy; his great grandchildren, Maddy, Zoey, Nelly, Brittany, Jada and Jack; and his siblings, Karen Berg, Jeanette Beudaux and Greg. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Donations in John's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
