She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas O'Brien and Jessie O'Brien (Rushton); and her siblings, Doris Dickson, Chesley, Ralph, Peter Jr., Arnold, Gerald and Leo.

She is survived by: her children, Wayne Spence (Colleen), Darrell Spence (Jackie) of Upper Stewiacke, Paul Spence (Amanda) of North River and Angela Spence (Chris Muise); her grandchildren, Amanda, Danielle, Robbie, Chad, Hunter, Charlene, Melody and Justin; her great grandchild Jailynn of Lily; and her sisters, Eileen Alexander of Masstown, Norma Buckler and Doreen Wark. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
