He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry and Murial Emma MacKinnon (Wicks); his wife Beverley MacKinnon (Johnson); and his brother David MacKinnon. He is survived by: his siblings, Anne Blair (Fred), Harold MacKinnon, Victor MacKinnon and Billy MacKinnon; his children, Sherry MacKinnon, Jennifer MacKinnon, New Glasgow and Keegan MacKinnon (Misa); his grandson Alexander Emery; and his great-grandparent Bennett.
