He was predeceased by: his parent Alonzo Clarence; his former wife Joan M. I. Sullivan (Hanes); his son Frederick Alonzo of Douglas Ronald; his stepson James Hanes; and his brothers, Clarence Alonzo, Lloyd Douglas and Alvin Edgar.
He is survived by: his parent Kate Louise Sullivan (Johnston); his wife Nina Lorraine; his children, John Edward, David Wesley and Violet Irene Beattie; his grandchildren, Andrew Beattie, Jessica Beattie and Alexandra Beattie; his great grandchild Jacqueline Beattie; his sister Mable Murray; and his stepson Brian Hanes (Gilda). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of choice.
