He is survived by: his wife Mary (MacDonald); his children, Gerald (José), Richard McCowan (Dawn), Alberta, Tracey Hole (Derek) and Leslie Klaassen (Manzer); his stepchildren, Frankie Janes, Sydney, Derek Janes, Andrew Janes, Jacqueline Janes and Alberta; and his half-sister Verna. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held on Thursday, April 30th 2026 at the Royal Canadian Legion (Lower Lounge) (42 Brunswick St, Truro, NS B2N2G7).
