She was predeceased by: her parents, George Bernard Hughes and Mary Jean Terry (Hulsmans); her grandparents, James, Bernice Hughes, Louis and Mary Hulsmans; and her nephew Michael Carriere.
She is survived by: her significant other Robert Julian; her children, Christopher Whidden Truro (Kim) and Elissa MacInnes (Shawn); her grandchildren, Annabelle, Kaylin, Michael, Tucker, Raina, Hailey and Everly; and her siblings, Belda (Tommy), Teasha Carriere, Peter Hughes (Ellen), Bernard Hughes and Bonny Henderson (John). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, May 24th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Varner Funeral Home (55 Young St, Truro, NS B2N3W6).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Wanda's memory to Big Brothers Big Sisters are welcomed.
