She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis H. Barkhouse and Reta M. E. Barkhouse (Best); her husband Stuart E. Johnstone; and her son-in-law Douglas Mosher. She is survived by: her children, S. Wayne Johnstone (Donna), J. Elaine Mosher (Dale Hartling), Nicholsville and P. Bryce Johnstone (Elaine); her grandchildren, Kristen R. Marshall (Travis) and Malay Falls; her child Adrian S. Johnstone; and her brother Harold O. Barkhouse (late Helen). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM, at 6:00 PM and from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Waterville Baptist Church (1243 Mill St, Waterville, NS B0P1V0). A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at the Berwick Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Muriel's memory may be made to Waterville Baptist Church, Waterville & District Volunteer Fire Department or IWK Foundation.
