He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Levi and Philomène Atkinson (DeViller); his stepmother Jennie Marie Atkinson (Cottreau); his wife Marie Agnes Atkinson (LeBlanc); his son Gregory Alan Atkinson; and his brothers, Warren James, Warren Andrew, Chester and Felton.
He is survived by: his sons, Brad Atkinson (Susan), Philip Atkinson (Rejeanne) and James "Royden" Atkinson (Thea); his granddaughter Brittany Atkinson (Chad Cottreau); his great grandchildren, Vivian and William; and his sisters, Rose Marie Surette, Rose Emma Fox, Corinne MacKenzie, Eleonora d'Entremont and Agnes Robicheau.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 13th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Ambrose Co-Cathedral (65 Green St, Yarmouth, NS B5A1Z6).
