He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hector MacKenzie Sr. and Catherine Hazel "Kay" MacKenzie (Silver); his significant other Margaret "Peggy" Mackenzie (MacIntosh); his daughter Betty Imlay; his son-in-law Joe Imlay; his sisters, Myrna Carriere and Kathy MacKenzie-McKenna; and his siblings-in-law, Marjorie Lynn MacKenzie, Debbie MacKenzie, Rick Carriere and Bob Coulson.
He is survived by: his sons, John Langille (Stacy) and Robert Langille (Alanna); his grandchildren, Elizabeth Imlay (Frederick), Donald Imlay (Ashley), Jennifer Imlay (Sean), Cory Langille (Amanda) and Leigh-Ann Langille (Cory); his siblings, Gerald MacKenzie, Wilfred MacKenzie (Fred), Marjorie MacKenzie, Lloyd MacKenzie (Cheryle), Arthur MacKenzie (Art), William (Bill), Audrey Ivey (Owen), Henry MacKenzie and Lori MacKenzie (George); and his aunt Joan Ferguson. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
