She was predeceased by: her parents, David MacKenzie and Verna MacKenzie (Purvis); her brothers, Graham MacKenzie and Timothy MacKenzie; and her stepfather Hugh Hill.
She is survived by: her siblings, Heather Benoit (Dennis) and Paul MacKenzie (Coleen); her siblings' children, David Benoit (Kristy Lynn), Benjamin MacKenzie and Latisha Benoit (Craig Sinclair); her uncles, Eldred MacKenzie (Margie) and Bernie Purvis (Frances Phinney); and her aunt Eileen MacKenzie (Billy MacKenzie).
Donations in memory of Karen may be made to the Pictou County SPCA.
