He was predeceased by: his father Lawrence Roger Rutledge; his brother Steven Rutledge; his siblings-in-law, David, Ann Marie Peters and Jeremy Bell; and his stepmother-in-law Mary Peters (Misener).

He is survived by: his wife Ellen Rutledge (Peters); his children, Matthew Rutledge, Alysha (Tremain) and Naomi (Dustin); his grandchildren, Blake and Avery; his pet Winston; his mother Margaret Naomi Rutledge (Naugler); his siblings, Blaine (Susie), Eckville, Alta, Louise Landru (Gerald), Plymouth, Donna Campbell (Donnie), Herbie, Trenton, Lynn Dryden (Terry), Juanita Linthorne (Terry), Kenzieville and Leanne MacDonald (Dave); his sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Rutledge (Mount William), Dawn Peters (Aaron) and Lori Peters; and his close friends, John Gogan and Paul MacMillan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; and his 'brothers from another mother.
