We are sad to announce that on December 2, 2022, at the age of 58, Carl Sidney Mac Donald (Whycocomagh, Nova Scotia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Earl Donald and Marjorie "Queenie" Mac Donald (Richards); his uncle John Allan (Sidney Grant Mac Donald); and his cousin Randy Mac Donald (Nancy). He is survived by : his stepmother Kathleen Mac Donald (Campbell); his brother Allan Earl Mac Donald (Rosalie); his niece Melanie Mac Donald (Paul McCulloch); his great-nephew Ian; his aunt Delores Martin; his uncles, Buddy, Billy Richards and Tommy; his cousins, Jackie, Janis, Nancy, John, Natasha and Jacklyn; and his pets, Mitzi, Seasa and Diggity. He is also survived by many special friends and relatives.

The family ask that contributions be made in his memory to L'Arche Cape Breton, 3. L'Arche Lane, Iron Mines, NS B0E 2K0 or Forbes United Church, River Denys, NS B0E 2Y0, or a charity of your choice.

“We are so sorry that Carl left us so soon. Always ready to help, a steady presence through the years. We still see him in our mind's eyes going forward weekly to light the candle at the church service, on behalf of the church members of Orangedale.. His humble ways inspired others by his example. His few words always conveyed wisdom. May our thoughts and prayers soften the life of his close ones to deal with his sudden departure, and long after that. Sincerely, The Sobers.”
