It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerald Christopher Gillis (Whycocomagh, Nova Scotia), who passed away on May 24, 2019, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Gillis and Christy Gillis (Ferguson); his son Robert; his siblings-in-law, Duncan MacLeod, John MacDonald, Dan Hughie Beeson, Peter Beeson, Murdoch Gillis and Sadie Beeson; his niece Cheryl Gillis; and his nephew Robbie MacLeod.
He is survived by: his wife Jessie; his children, Brian (Louise), Kerry (Fletchers Lake), Geraldine MacKenzie (Aberdeen) and Sally Mac Lean (Fall River); his grandchildren, Natalie Ross (Tyler), Ashley Rathbun (James), Erin Gillis (Brent Turnbull), Jennifer Hickman (Bryan), Justin Gillis, Steven Gillis, Christy MacKenzie, Garrett MacKenzie, Erica MacLean (Luca Muratori) and Colin MacLean; his sister Eleanor MacDonald; and his siblings-in-law, Norman Beeson (Kay), Anna Gillis and Bernice Beeson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to Little Narrows Presbyterian Church or Gillis Cove Cemetery.
