He was predeceased by: his parents, John Angus and Mary Catherine McKinnon (Thomas); his wife Joanne Stevens-McKinnon; and his siblings, Archie Francis and Kathy.
He is survived by: his son Bernard "Joseph" McKinnon; his stepdaughter Cheri LeBlanc (Russell); his granddaughter Kristyn LeBlanc; and his siblings, Donald, John, Alexander, Robert, Marion, Rita, Mary and Ernestine. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
