He was predeceased by : his parents, John R. Smith and Florence H. Smith (Brown); his wife Helena (Lockhart); and his siblings, John "Jack", Ken, Henry, Donnie, Ronnie Smith, Violet Filmore and Marg Boyd.
He is survived by : his children, Wendy Turgeon (Marcel), Kim (Shelley), John (Gerry), Kingston, Rod (Shannon) and Bedford; and his sister Ella Markham (Jim) of Santa Barbara, CA..
Donations in memory of Arnie may be made to Hants Community Hospital – Palliative Care, 89 Payzant Dr., Windsor, NS B0N 2T0, as it was a charity that held a special place in his heart because of the care they provided to Mom.
