He was predeceased by: his parents, Gottlob Halbgewachs and Emma Halbgewachs (Shrij); his former wives, Margaret (Land), Donna Hoskin (John) and Lori Auton (Steve); and his siblings, John, Robert, Mary, Hanna, Elsie, Freda and Dorothy.

He is survived by: his wife Ethel Mae (Dill-Starratt); his children, Gary (Phyllis), Susan Brawn (David), Greg and Heather; the mother of his children Nancy; his grandchildren, Krista (Jerret), Katelyn (Tim), Derrick (Abby), Tyler (Rachel) and Sara; his stepchildren, Sandra Starratt (Bruce), Freddie Starratt (Wanda) and Frankie Starratt (Cindy); and his sister Barbara Osborne. He is also survived by many step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
