He was predeceased by: his parents, George Pineo and Annie-Margaret Pineo (Fraser); his wife Rhoda; his children, Marsha Brooks and Richard; his grandsons, Terry "Junior" and Ashley Brooks; his siblings, James, Donald, June Fletcher, Gloria Tuck and Lorraine Skelhorne; and his grandparents, John Frederick and Lena Beatrice Pineo (Smith).
He is survived by: his children, Robert (Cindy), John (Heather), Mark, Elaine Harvey, Sheila Lunn, Yvonne Burgess (Brian), Kathleen Dickieson, Joanne Lewis (Randy) and Jacqueline Pineo; and his sister-in-law Shirley Pineo. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
