Geneva Marion Sanford Obituary

We announce the death of Geneva Marion Sanford of Windsor, Nova Scotia, who passed away on July 20, 2026, at the age of 98. Geneva will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Rupert Dawson (Rupe) and Florence Dawson (Sharpe); her husband Russell Sanford; her daughter Anne Hopper (Sanford); and her siblings, Raymond Dawson, Frederick Leone Dawson, Wiliam Walter Dawson, Efford Dawson, Alwin Dawson, Eugenia, Lillian Daniels (Dawson), Gertrude Winter (Dawson) and Carlyle.

She is survived by: her daughters, Robyn Sanford (Tim Redden), Wendy Sanford and Janet Matheson; her grandchildren, John Warner, Caleb Matheson (Holly), Colby Matheson (Abby), Ben Redden (Lisa), Jillian Redden (Nick) and Ashley Sanford (Zane); her son-in-law Robert Hopper; her sister Maisie Campbell (Dawson); and her caregiver Nancy Riley. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great grandchildren.

After retirement Geneva kept busy, she volunteered with the Palliative Care visiting patients and was always involved with The Canadian Cancer Association helping to raise money.
