He was predeceased by : his parents, Gordon Martin and Thelma Martin (Wilson); his granddaughter Annette; his brother Walter; his brothers-in-law, Henry Porter and Bill Neilson; and his sons-in-law, David Smith and Brian Williams.

He is survived by : his wife Dorothy (Walsh); his children, Patricia Martin, Linda Smith, Karen Richard (Ross), Christine Moore and Michael (Julie); his grandchildren, Natasha Stewart (Scott), Mark Breen, Amber Breen, Shyla Richard, Luke Richard of Patrick James, Anthony Scriver and Justine Knight; his siblings, Carolyn Porter, Patricia Neilson and James "Jimmy" (Mae); his daughter-in-law Claudine Martin; his brother-in-law Bill Walsh (Brenda); and his pet Bella. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Chick may be made to Brooklyn Fire Department, PO Box 136, Newport, NS B0N 2A0 or a charity of one's choice.
