He was predeceased by: his parents, Whitfield Garland and Janice Garland (Arenburg); his daughter Sarah; his brother Georgie; his son-in-law Paul; and his sister-in-law Patsy.
He is survived by: his wife Rae (Gibson); his children, Michelle, Alberta, Matthew (Amy) and Marcy (Makyle); his grandson Johnathan (Emily); and his siblings, Jeanie, Donald (Angela), Dougie (Shelly), Lousie (Frank), Dorothy and David. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service (419 Albert St, Windsor, NS B0N2T0).
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John may be made to Hants Community Hospital, 89 Payzant Dr., Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 or the Chemotherapy Department at Valley Regional Hospital, 150 Exhibition St., Kentville, NS B4N 5E3.
