He was predeceased by: his parents, Beverly Jones and Helen Jones; and his brother Christopher Jones. He is survived by: his wife Gail Jones (Lane); his daughters, Lisa (Jones) Pinch (Chad) and Rebecca Jones-Boudreau (Richard); his brother Andrew Jones; and his grandchildren, Zack, Ronan, Bailey, Grace, Lucy (Lisa) and Drake (Rebecca). He is also survived by grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Ducks Unlimited Canada, Chrysalis House or Look Good Feel Better (via the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation).
