He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilton C. Vail and Beatrice G. Vail (Proud); his wife Dorothy Vail (Crane); and his sister-in-law Nancy Vail (Lewis). He is survived by: his sons, Scott Vail (Shelley) of Sluice Point and Corey Vail of Eel Brook; his granddaughter Raven Vail; and his siblings, David Vail of Yarmouth, Roger Vail (Bev) of Cole Harbour and Nancy MacNevin (Douglas) of Cornwall. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
