He was predeceased by: his father Donald Smith. He is survived by: his close friend Antje MacEachern; and his children, Anthony Smith (Angela), Edward Smith (Joan Porter), Lora Smith (Steve Pearce), Corey Purdy-Smith and Tyson Purdy-Smith. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
