He was predeceased by : his parents, Ernest Hersey and Hazel Hersey; his former life partner Beverly; and his siblings, Gail Mullen, Marjorie Melanson, Percy, Charlie and Donnie.

He is survived by : his wife Elsie; his daughter Heather Gibson; his siblings, Gladys Amero, Ethel Mullen, Evelyn Mullen and Walter of Oshawa, ON.; and his grandchildren, Hilary, Mack, Duncan and Gibson.

His Ford F150 took over from there in his later years, often travelling between Ontario and Nova Scotia, unfortunately it came to a halt when Covid 19 appeared on the scene.
