He was predeceased by: his former wife Enid Newell (Nickerson); his children, Steven and Elizabeth; his grandsons, Mark d'Eon and Justin Nickerson; his son-in-law Garth Atkinson; and his siblings, Weldon, Kenneth, Mary, George, Wallace, Nellie, Addie, Sidney and Edward.

He is survived by: his wife Augusta Newell (Smith-Nickerson); his children, Lynn (Rob Kaufman) and Jimmy (Dot); his daughter-in-law Lori; his grandchildren, Stephanie (Kerry), Andrew, Randy (Holly), Cammie (Gibby) and Kenneth (Alissa); and his stepchildren, Tim (Carol), George (Earlene), Enola Harris (Robert), Teddy (Sherry) and Marla Atkinson. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren, 11 step grandchildren and 15 step great grandchildren.
