She was predeceased by: her parents, James Hancock and Mildred Hancock (Balcom); her husband Roderick MacNeil; her son Michael MacNeil; her siblings, Mary, Francis Hancock, Wilbur and Murray Hancock; and her close friend Ron Penney.
She is survived by: her children, Kevin MacNeil of Langley, B. C. and Laura Purdy of Rockville, NS.; her daughters-in-law, Beverley MacNeil, Bay and Ont; her grandchildren, Neil MacNeil (April) of Edmonton, AB., Christopher MacNeil, Bay, Ont, Stacey Purdy (Scott Smith) of Darling's Lake, NS., Katie Purdy (Mike Savoy) of Yarmouth, NS. and Shelby Purdy of Rockville, NS.; and her great grandchildren, Ethan, Elizabeth, Elliot, Madeline, Kingston, Blayre and Willow.
In 2002, Grace was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal which recognized Canadians who made outstanding and exemplary contributions to their communities and/or Canada as a whole.
