He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Smith and Ena Smith (Newell); his wife Erma; his siblings, Edgar, Bernard, Ellen and Agusta; and his great grandchild Grayson.
He is survived by: his children, Judy (Dwayne), Linda (Bob), Joan (Stephen), Colleen, Roger (Gaile) and Gary (Rhoda); and his sister Bernice. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made at Sweeny's Funeral Home to "Hands Across the Sea" a children's orphanage in Haiti.
