Jean Edward Cottreau Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jean Edward Cottreau (Yarmouth, Nova Scotia), who passed away on January 6, 2026 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornelius Cottreau and Jane Cottreau; his siblings, Rose Saulnier, Yvonne Boudreau, Genevieve Boudreau, Ken Cottreau and Jean-Baptist; his parents-in-law, Noah and Rita Muise; his siblings-in-law, Jack Boudreau, Earl Boudreau, Gerald Boudreau, Ernest Saulnier, Raymond Cottreau, Joseph Boudreau, Louis Muise and Muriel Landry; and his son-in-law Albert Moore.

He is survived by: his wife Dianne Louise Cottreau; his children, Treena Moore and Jamie Cottreau (Crystal); his grandchildren, Allyson LeBlanc (Julien), Tyler Greene (Ashley), Courtney Cottreau (Ryan), Alec Cottreau (Jadyn) and Joshua Cottreau (Claire); his great grandchildren, Frannie and Brooks; his siblings, Joan Surette (Warren), Fred Cottreau (Peggy), Betty Boudreau, Linda Boudreau, Jeanne Surette (Brian) and Mona Winchester (Wilfred); and his in-laws, Judy Muise (Allan Surette), Marilyn Pothier (Briand), Nora Muise, Ella Doucette (Leland), Stella Cottreau and Melvin Landry. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 8th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Huskilson's Funeral Chapel (29 Albert St, Yarmouth, NS B5A3N1). A prayer was held on Thursday, January 8th 2026 at 8:00 PM at the Huskilson's Funeral Home (29 Albert St, Yarmouth, NS B5A 3N1). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Ambrose Co-Cathedral (65 Green St, Yarmouth, NS B5A1Z6). A burial was held on Friday, January 9th 2026 at the Wedgeport Cemetery.
