We bid farewell to Margaret Ruth Gavel of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 26, 2025 at the age of 66. Margaret Ruth touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Winston Gavel and Myrtle "Marie" Gavel (Churchill); her daughter Rozanne Marie Gavel; and her siblings, Warren Gavel and Sylvia Gavel.
She is survived by: her spouse Terry Hazelton; her brother Avery Gavel; her grandchildren, Evan Parker and Brooke Gavel; her great grandchildren, Maddison, Ezria and Vadalee Gavel; her stepchildren, Bill Ruttan, Shelly Saulnier, Steven Hazelton and Kevin Hazelton; and her stepgrandchildren, John, Linnea Saulnier, Jessica Omera, Dean Ruttan, Emily Hazelton and Kenny McGinnis. She is also survived by many step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sweeny's Funeral Home and Crematorium (567 Main St, Yarmouth, NS B5A1J6). A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Cheggogin Cemetery.
