Mary Olive Gates Obituary

We are sad to announce that on November 19, 2025, at the age of 96, Mary Olive Gates (Yarmouth, Nova Scotia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Murray Murphy and Olive Murphy; her husband Robert Gates (Bob); her brothers, Douglas Murphy (Marg) and Gerald Murphy (Sally); and her daughters-in-law, Deanna Gates and Debbie Gates.

She is survived by: her sons, Robert Gates (Anne) of Yarmouth, Bruce Gates (Linda), Mark Gates (Cheryl) of Kemptville and Bill Gates (Annie) of Mount Uniacke; and her brothers, Paul Murphy (Maria) of Truro and David Murphy (Colleen) of Bracebridge, Ontario.. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
