We announce the death of Ruth Ann Dakin (Yarmouth, Nova Scotia), who passed away on October 27, 2026, at the age of 84. Ruth Ann will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edwin Evan and Eunice Lillian Frost (Adams); and her granddaughter Celine Dakin. She is survived by: her husband Douglas Arthur "Artie" Dakin; her children, Mary Ellis, Gary Dakin, Duane Dakin (Anne) and Barrington; her sisters, Barbara McDormand and Bea MacDonald; and her grandsons, Jason Ellis (Nancy), Christopher Ellis and Mason Dakin (Cecely).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sweeny's Funeral Home (567 Main St, Yarmouth, NS B5A1J6). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 4th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Donations in her memory may be made to Kemptville Baptist Church , Yarmouth Hospital Palliative Care, or Friends of Gilles Boudreau Cancer Help Fund.
