It is with sadness that the passing of Gladys Marion Eggenberger (Yellowknife, Northwest Territories) is shared. Gladys, born on March 29, 1935, passed away on July 15, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Warren Brown and Daisy Brown (Walker); her brothers, James, Murray and Edward Brown; and her granddaughter Laura Haist.
She is survived by: her husband Albert Eggenberger; her children, Garth Eggenberger (Helen Usherwood), Edward Eggenberger (Cheryl Eggenberger), Janet MacLeod (Sherrie Jones), Kathleen Glenday (John Glenday), Wendy Eggenberger and Jennifer Gillard (Doug Gillard); her grandchildren, John Eggenberger, Simmie Gill, Sarah Legge, Morrissey Legge, Amanda Kurelski, Mike Kurelski, Wesley MacLeod, Hailey MacLeod, Patricia Wilchynski, Julian Wilchynski, Ted Haist, Kelsey Haist, Emily Haist, Christian Eggenberger, Bekka Love, Lauren Eggenberger and Chelsey Gillard; her great grandchildren, Elodie, Cordelia, Isabella, Hunter, Maverick, Ellianna, Gillian, Devon, Xochi, Aria, Gretel, Monte and Sophie; and her friend Albert. She is also survived by four stepchildren and five step-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Her lifelong dedication to volunteerism and community service was recognized in 2002, when she received the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal, honouring Canadians who have made outstanding contributions to their communities.
