He was predeceased by: his grandson Tyler Murray; and his brother-in-law Gordon Miller. He is survived by: his spouse Marion Hazel Spence; his children, Kenneth Alan Spence and Michelle Deanne Murray; his grandchildren, Sydney Spence, Kendra Murray, Sierra Spence, Jocelyn Murray and Trent Murray; his children-in-law, Lisa Spence and Jason Murray; and his sister Marlene Miller. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, extended family, friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Alan's favourite charities such as Toronto SickKids Hospital, or the Humane Society of Durham Region would be greatly appreciated by the family.
