Alva Zilna MacFarlane Obituary
We are sad to announce that on March 3, 2025, at the age of 102, Alva Zilna MacFarlane (Ajax, Ontario) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Alva Zilna leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Alva Zilna may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her husband Louis Franklin MacFarlane; her sibling Milda Cole (Ben Cole); and also Arvin Sorge (Irma Sorge). She is survived by: her children, Cheryl Louise Borthwick of Scarborough and Alva Judith Lynne Cook (Timothy Cook) of Mobile; and her grandchildren, Krystal Marie Stringfellow (William Stringfellow) and Alabama. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the McEachnie Funeral Home (28 Old Kingston Rd, Ajax, ON L1T2Z7). A burial was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the Duffin Meadows Cemetery (2505 Brock Rd N, Pickering, ON L1X0K3).
In Lieu of Flowers memorial donations may be made to Southlake Residential Care Village, 4 West in Newmarket, Ontario.
