He was predeceased by: his wife Grace Elizabeth Vaz; his parents, Cajetan Vaz and Carmeline Vaz; his brothers, Sebastian and Danny Vaz; and his brothers-in-law, Raphael Pereira and Ignatius Pereira.

He is survived by: his children, Benny Vaz (Marlene), Reggie Vaz (Cheryl), Maryanne Khan (Winfred) and Gerry Vaz (Charmaine); his siblings, Anna Pereira, Bernadette Pereira and Felix Vaz; his sisters-in-law, Monica Vaz and Nancy Vaz; and his grandchildren, Christopher (Lavinia), Carlisle (Angela), Aaron, Ashton (Rachel), Nathan, Joshua, Rae, Dylan, Jadon and Cara.
