He was predeceased by: his wife Lynne; his siblings, Marie Murphy, Bryan Murphy and Bobby Murphy; his brother-in-law Brian Hough; and his parents, Rose Murphy and Vernon Murphy.

He is survived by: his children, Lisa Poechman (Trevor) of Bowmanville and Jeff Murphy (Anya) of Whitby; his grandchildren, Josh, Jenna, Meghan and Rachel; his siblings, Joanne Hough of Lindsay, Johnny Murphy (Mary) of North York, Patricia Murphy (Matthew Marosszeky) of Aurora and Vernon Murphy of Port Hope; and his brother-in-law Ron Struys of Toronto. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews, wonderful friends and extended family.
