She is survived by : her husband David; her children, Robert (Jennifer), Jennifer (Matthew), Jason (Jenna) and Kristin; her grandchildren, Ava, Jack, Sloane and Jace; her parents, Otto Lansche and Gladys Lansche; her sister Janet Bottomley (Alan); her mother-in-law Vicki Bell; and her brother-in-law Stephen Bell (Terrylee Smith). She is also survived by numerous relatives and friends.

“To the family of Karen and her mom Gladys, dad, Otto and sister Janet, my deepest condolences to you all. Karen and I had kept touch on messenger and I will miss her deeply. As young kids we had a privileged upbringing with such wonderful parents and friends. I will never forget her laugh, flaming red hair and all the fun we had as next door neighbours.
