Kathryn touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her spouse Gerry; her children, Mark, Kerry (Bill), Kyle (Debi) and Matthew (Renee); her grandchildren, Jesse, Sara, Chloe, Emma and Abby; her parents, Jack White and Ruth White; and her friend Kay.

In 1993, Kay received the prestigious Dorothy McMurdie Award for "significant contribution to quilting in Canada".
