He was predeceased by: his mother Joan; and his uncle Phil. He is survived by: his wife Karen; his children, Josh and Meghan (Aidan); his father Mike Sr.; his stepmother Sharon; his sister Debby (Joe); his aunts, Maureen (Peter) and Sue; and his cousins, Jackie and Paul (Darlene).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike's memory may be made to the Durham Regional Cancer Centre, in appreciation of the care he received throughout his cancer journey, or to St. Michael's Hospital, in appreciation of the outstanding care provided by the neurosurgery and neurology teams.
