He was predeceased by : his parents, James Hirst and Marjorie Thornton (Hirst); and his brother Geoff Hirst (Peggy). He is survived by : his brother Ken Hirst (Karen); his wife Jean Kindt; his children, Laurie Hirst Mousseau (Scott) and Chris Hirst (Carrie); his grandchildren, Ryan, Kate and Josh; his niece Debbie; his nephews, Andrew (Lynn), Matt (Janette) and Dustin (Michelle); his former life partner Dana Jones; and his stepdaughter Amanda (James).
