He was predeceased by: his nephew Dirk; his daughter-in-law Gurjit; and his parents, Wilhelm and Johanna (Galka). He is survived by: his wife Rosemarie (Effey); his children, Harriet (John), Michael, Willy (Kathy), Wally (Neary) of Almonte and Corkery; his grandchildren, Rick, Kristy (Ed), Amber (Bill), Robbie (Melanie), Jasmine, Nick and Gabe; his sibling Manfred "Jerry" (Judy) of Merritt, BC.; his niece Carla of Coquitlam, BC.; his nephew Mark (Tracey) of Port Coquitlam, BC.; and his sister-in-law Ellen (late Heinz).
