He was predeceased by: his wife Christine Christensen; and his siblings, Asger and Annemette. He is survived by: his children, Jamie Christensen (Lesley), Kevin Christensen (Brenda) and Heather Button (Shawn); his grandchildren, Siara, Kirah, Kaeden, Rachel, Lauren, Liam and Karenna; his brothers, Finn, Thomas (Rosemary), Steen and Mike; and his sibling-in-law Robyn Pettit (Doug).

A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 17th 2026 at 3:30 PM at 2710 March Rd, Ottawa, ON K0A1L0. Visitation was held on Saturday, January 17th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location.

“Dean and I offer our sympathies and condolences to the whole family on the shocking passing of John. John was our neighbour and he was a great neighbor. He helped out cutting our lawn as he kept his meticulous, had great chats about motorcycles., travelling out east. Etc Joan would come over and enjoy a nice cool one in the backyard or talks on the front yard. He loved my cats. He would sit on his front porch and let them come over. I think he even bought them treats. He enjoyed our Halloween”
