He was predeceased by: his parents, Bob Friars and Florence Friars; his sibling Gail Bratt (late Bernie Krebs); and his siblings-in-law, Kay Martin (Chip), Meg Atkinson (Kevin) and Jay Wigle (Cheryl).

He is survived by: his wife Tina; his sons, Rob (Ashley), Jeff (Stephanie) and Adam (Josslyn); his grandchildren, Declan, Irelyn and Isabella; and his siblings, Bill (Barb), John, Rosemary Finnegan (Gerry), Valerie Caulkins (Bill), Susan Jaber (Tony) and Tom (Sue Gaunt). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
