It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerald Wismer (Amherstburg, Ontario), who passed away on July 9, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Gerald Wismer to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Darwin and Aleatha Wismer; his grandson James; and his sisters, Marilyn (Max) and Lucienna (Harvey).
He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his sons, Thomas Russell (Lisa), Randal (Betsy), Richard (Amy) and Ronald (Marisa); his grandchildren, Adam (Ricci), Christopher (Luciana), Ryan, Eric, Jackie, Megan, Nicholas and Matthew; his great grandchildren, Michaela, Ivory and Christopher; and his brother Darwin (Ethel).
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, on Sunday, July 13th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Rosehill Cemetery (157 Alma St, Amherstburg, ON N9V1A3).
In his memory, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Windsor-Essex Therapeutic Riding Association.
