She was predeceased by: her spouse Thomas Johnstone; her son Tom Jr. (Pauline); her brother John Esdon (Allison); her uncle Robert; and her sister Isabel Esdon (McGregor).

She is survived by: her children, Laurie Ann Forbes, Cameron Johnstone (Colleen), Robert Johnstone (Sally) and David Johnstone (Cindy); her grandchildren, Jamie, Andrew, Colin, Gavin, Ross, Shannon, Daniel and Rory; and her great grandchildren, Maggie and Noah.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation in Helen's memory.
