He was predeceased by : his wife Jill Turpin; and his former life partner Brenda. He is survived by : his children, James Turpin of Vancouver and Angelique Turpin (Chris Schimmens) of Pembroke; his stepson Wade Hyland; his grandchildren, Jesse Turpin, Emily Schimmens and Kaila Yakabuski (Matt); his brothers, Don (Reta) of Kingston, David of St. Lazarre and Dennis (Kathy) of Arnprior; and his nieces and nephews, Kristina Noreau (Louis), Nick Turpin (Melinda), Christopher Turpin, Corey Turpin, Kelly Turpin and Chelsea Turpin (Adam McNulty).

“Hey guys, its cousin Patty here. I think of each and every one of you with a heavy heart for the loss we all bear. Hate me if you will, but he was always my favorite and he always will be. What I want to know is why no one warned me of his visiting me today playing one last practical joke at my expense. You all know his sense of humor. Why did you not warn me that my morning bowl of corn flakes had been tampered with. Salt instead of sugar. Well playing Jim, well played ! Love to all”
